Rekha is the Learning Facilitator at Jogunkoppa village.
She is a mother of three, a homemaker. Every evening she is at the CherYsh Shiksha and influences the way children learn after school. Children are drawn to her! She is their go-to person to get home work done, enjoy a game, learn English and Mathematics, and then enjoy a mid-evening nutritional supplement!
And, she’s a learner, too. CherYsh provides regular training in English Language skills, Mathematics, and the use of Art, Music and Sport as channels to teach. This is done via an Active Rural Curriculum that includes phonics, and creative teaching practices to which she brings her own passion.
35-40 children. 3 hours a day. 4 subjects. All season.
There are 18 Learning Facilitators like Rekha in 11 villages of Haliyal, Uttara Kannada district, Karnataka. By March 2017, 25 such facilitators will change the way children learn after-school in 25 CherYsh Shikshas in 15 villages with 1000 children covered.
She is the one woman who is changing lives through learning in her village.
