There is a little too much greed going on in society. My definition of greed is when a limitless person selfishly wants something and the obsessive addictions is that enough is never enough. The dictionaries definition is ‘an inordinate or insatiable longing, especially for wealth, status, and power.’ People do not realize that greed concentrated too much on earthly thoughts. People think the need of wanting something is just a thought, however if you continue to think about it, eventually the person will find a way to allow greed to take over the thoughts. Greed can make a man, but it can also destroy him ten times over. It is one thing to want money or materialistic ideals, but the necessity almost unavoidably becomes greed. Greed is something Greed is so powerful in a person that it has the ability to destroy them, their friends, and family relationships. I have lived in the poorest country my first nine years, so when I was adopted, my mom gave me everything I ever wanted, everything I ever needed. However, using myself as an example, I was so mesmerized of the materialistic things that were available, that I stole. I took something that was not mine because I felt greedy. However, the week before it was released, everyone talked about wanting it because it’s the new “cool” thing. However, what people fail to understand is that the reason they want…show more content…
Greed is a distraction from recognizing mortality. It is a distraction. It serves no other purpose except “self-observing me.” What our culture, family, and freinds should be emphasizing concerning such a powerful emotion is focusing on motivating people tofollow higher ambitions. Not so much as always grabbing more “wants,” but teaching people to ignore the ugly side of greed and make it beautiful. The antonym of "Greed" is "Generosity" and I think the generosity could do much better. An example of beautiful greed would be not obsessing or hoarding, but giving instead of always wanting.
