Television advertisement takes an important part of everyday human's life. Everyday millions of people in America and the world watches television and advertisements. Television advertisements are very common these days. They appear in public where a lot of people can hear and watch. For example, commercials tend to appear on the radio, football game where a lot of people are watching, and in on television. Advertisement is seen many times especially on television. Television is the most efficient way for business industries to use to take advantage of showing advertisement.
Television advertising to children :
Whether advertising should be directed to children ,and if so how it should be governed,has always generated debate.This article investigated three issue currently causing concern:perchase request behaviour,gender stereotyping and aggeretion,and compared to result to a similar study conducted in 1989.While very few of the advertisement transgressed the advertising standard authority code on advertisingto children with respect to purchase request behaviour and aggration,evidence of gender stereotyping was more pronnounced. We conclude that industry and government regulatory bodies could play more proactive role in promulgating the codes of practise,enjoining exceptance of them and inforcing their provision.
