Abdul Kalam was an institution-builder and a team-builder who always wanted to build a strong and self-reliant India.

A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, former President of India, Bharat Ratna and far-sighted architect of India's space and missile programmes, passed away in Shillong on Monday.

Kalam was an institution-builder and a team-builder, a visionary and a dreamer, who always wanted to build a strong and self-reliant India. Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Defence Minister R. Venkataraman, scientific advisor to the Defence Minister V.S. Arunachalam and Kalam were a formidable team in the early 1980s who wanted to weld into India into a puissant country in science and technology. Kalam devised every stratagem in the book to beat the embargoes and sanction regimes including the Missile Technology Control Regime imposed on India following the Pokhran nuclear tests in 1974 and later in 1998.

I don't have an APJ Abdul Kalam story. Except perhaps for that one time in middle school when a quiz qualifier question asked his full name and left slightly red-faced. But I may be in a minority.

As soon as the news of Kalam's death hit us, as expected, Facebook and Twitter were flooded with RIP messages. However, this wave of mourning was strikingly different from the usual waves of RIP updates that course through social media when a famous personality dies. These RIP messages were accompanied by anecdotes - some personal, some second-hand, some remembered from books and speeches. These were real stories, not just Googled quote

He played his role as a great scientist, president, teacher, motivator and above all he was a great human being. Seriously what we have lost can not be described in words and he will be in our hearts forever.

When I was in my seventh standard, I made a collage of all published articles and photographs of Abdul Kalam from Dinamalar and sent it to Rashtapathi Bhavan,Delhi..
Guess what?
The then President of India, replied to this silly student with a signed post, saying he was happy with my humble effort and as a student, asked me to work towards making India better!
Einstein's eulogy on Gandhi will apply equally well to Abdul Kalam too.
"Generations to come, it may well be, will scarce believe that such a man as this one ever in flesh and blood walked upon this Earth.”
You will always live in our minds sir!
RIP Abdul Kalam, The Greatest Indian!

this was mere experiences...

HOPE THIS HELPS YOU...
