Corruption actually means the illegal usage of power or position for one’s own benefit. But in today’s times, it is rather the use of any wrong means to achieve something. Hence I pointed out corruption is beneficial (not required) in short term. It is after all a very competitive world where there is throat cut competition to strive towards success. So amidst all this if we adapt a few shortcuts or wrong means to be specific, it is clearly not a very big deal especially when it doesn’t harm others. It actually saves lives in a way. I mean for an instance imagine a police case against some person. Either he has to face the trial and be prosecuted or pay up the inspector and vanish off the case. Now say what would be better?? Well undoubtedly the latter one. Because no matter guilty or not, your reputation is at stake and you are happy at the end. And this is the selfish motive behind every corrupted attempt...I AM HAPPY OR NOT!
And trust me; the dirty politicians as we call them think in just the same way. They guzzle thousands of crores of rupees inconspicuously with the same motive at the end- whether they and there family is happy or not moreover it wouldn’t harm anyone. In either of the situations cited above, they certainly are not harming anyone personally but what they did is grossly wrong. What would you feel if you study for hours and end up failing all exams??....Just the same. People spend days and nights to work hard and earn money, pay taxes and abide by norms of the govt. for WHAT? Fill up pockets up the ministers and other officials? Or unequivocally, when common people break rules and adapt wrong means as in the form of an misuse of some advantage or privilege, they are actually wasting the patience and persistence other people have put in to achieve the same thing. And in a way taking advantage of the helplessness of the people which undoubtedly is morally wrong. So summarizing corruption is the privilege of the RICH but ironically India has 80% people as POOR! And so corruption weakens India.
