First we welcomes the New Year with great grand happiness all around India and as well as whole world and then after this in India many festivals such as lohri, Makarsakraniti, durga pujan, republic Day, Independence Day, holy Diwali, Raksha bandhan, basakhi, teej,janmastmi, karvachauth, hoe, moraham.

India is very rightly classified as a country of festivals. True to this belief, India has scores and scores of festivals, unlike any other country of the world. This is because of the diverse cultures that exist in this sub­continent. All these different cultures and religions get tied together in bonds of love with these invisible threads of celebrations. Each sect has the right to celebrate as it wishes and everyone has the right and the interest to join in all celebrations of all others.

In India, festivals are so many because basically we celebrate almost everything, like nature, colour, friendship etc. There are festivals of different hues meant for the celebration of different achievements and occasions, whether religious or otherwise. There are national festivals which are celebrated by the whole country. These are three in number, on 26th January every year we celebrate our Republic Day when India was declared a Republic.
