India - One Nation, One Voice

India is a Socialist, Secular, Democratic, Republic. We have diversified religions, customs and traditions which makes it one of the most unique nations in the world.

But the only evil that is plaguing our society is caste system. What started as a segregation of society with respect to its professions during the Rig Vedic times, has now become a culprit in segregation of society in the name of caste. Caste system has percolated into every aspect of the society.

For generations together, the so called ‘high castes’ such as Brahmins and Kshatriyas have exploited and humiliated the ‘lower castes’ which encouraged social evils like untouchability. There have been several instances where couples who performed inter-caste marriages have been brutally killed by the elders in their caste.

Indian politics is reeking with the rotten caste issues. Power-hungry politicians in every state are playing with people’s psychology and misusing caste to their advantage. Our education system is no less. Up to 40 % of the seats are reserved for students who come from SC, ST or OBC categories. There are thousands of cases where ineligible students have been allotted admission in several professional colleges not based on educational merit but because of their caste affiliations. The same system is followed even for government jobs all across India. This system followed over the years is encouraging unqualified and ill-equipped professionals and thus it is affecting the system.

Atrocities like these are examples that people are encouraging inequalities in the name of caste and creed. We have forgotten that in the eyes of God we are all equal and there is no discrimination. Only when we all come together as one single nation, we are going to become a stronger nation.

                                             Caste Free India

Constitution of India ordains social, political, economic, intellectual, religious, and philosophical freedom to all its citizens. Our wise leaders and reformers also stressed on the need of building a new India on the foundations of social equality.

Discrimination of any sort engenders distrust, indignation, and a sense of injustice among those who are discriminated. In this situation people who are discriminated against can’t give their best to the development and progress of any state or nation.

God created all beings with equal, love, and care. The entire creation is the expression of God’s love. But man created boundaries, differences, castes, creeds, and religions. He made biased rules and regulations according to his convenience. Such biases and discriminations afflict many societies, states, and nations. All such places where people are discriminated, the developmental programs have been undermined by unnecessary conflicts, civil wars and struggles.

The time has come when man must be treated as man; not as a person belonging to one particular community, caste, creed, color, or religion. It is true, unless all work equally, progress is impossible. We must all join hands to create a casteless, colorless, creedless, and equal society. Only in such a nation as promotes equality is progress possible. Let’s all contribute in making a casteless India.
