India is one of the oldest civilizations in the world with history reaching back 5 millennia having kaleidoscopic variety and rich cultural heritage. Today India is also the fastest growing economy in the world and achieving all-round socio-economic progress since Independence.
India is the 7th largest country in the world in terms of size extending between latitudes 8° 4' and 37° 6' north and longitudes 68° 7' and 97° 25' east which measures about 3,214 km from north to south and about 2,933 km from east to west.
India is also home to 1.3 billion people making it the 2nd most populated country in the world after china. The population comprises of such a variety in terms of religion, language, food habits, physical looks, tradition, attire that it is said that India changes after every mile making India a tourist paradise but even after such a diversity all are living together as proud Indian brothers and sisters.
Bounded by the Himalayan ranges in the north and surrounded on three sides by sea (Arabian sea, Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean) India offers a wide array of places to see and things to do.
