India is country of cultural and traditional festivals. It has many festivals and religions. These are celebrated all across the country with a lot of joy. It has become an important part of our lives. There are mainly 3 types of festivals celebrated in India - National, Religious and Seasonal. Each has its own significant and meaning and gives immense pleasure to different sections of people at different times of the year.
The patriotic fervour abounds around the time of the 3 national festivals. The Republic day, Independence day and Gandhi Jayanti are celebrated as our 3 national festivals. During the religious and Seasonal festivals, apart from the fact that all are celebrated with great applomb, a lot of brotherhood is generated among all. Family and friends get together, people from different religions wish and participate their by ushering a feeling of togetherness.
The other important festivals are Diwali, Holi, Christmas, Eid, Durga Pooja, Mahaveer Jayanti, Janmashtami etc. to just a few. All festivals celebrated in India promote national intrigration and bring Harmony and Peace in our society.

India being a vast country, also have vast variety of celebrations and festivals. They are the soul and heart of our country. Our country has rich traditions and cultural heritage, and our festivals reflect this richness. These festivals are national, social, cultural and religious in character.
In national festivals, we remember our leaders, reformers, and great men—the architects of our country who reformed and contributed to the richness of our heritage.Some of the national festivals includes gandi jayanti,republic day, independence day,B.R. Ambedkar jayanti,etc.
In religious festivals, we celebrate the birth anniversaries of the Gurus, Saints, and great seers. We also celebrate Durga Puja, Diwali, Dussehra, Eid, etc.
In social festivals, we celebrate the change in seasons, and harvesting the crops, e.g.,Basant Panchmi, Vaisakhi , etc.
In cultural festivals, we glorify dance, music and the arts.
All in all, Indians celebrate every festival with great enthusiasm. Children as well as elders look forward to the festive celebrations.The diverse nature of India makes it a melting point of culture and festivities. We rejoice every festivals of multiple religions and cultures.We indians should be very proud of our cultural heritage.
