The modern era has snatched on many things from us and out of them one thing is giving highest priority and respect to the old people in the society. Now – a – days , old people are treated rudely and they don’t get required attention and respect. our culture that comes in the form of love and respect for the elders and old people. Our modern generation has adopted an ignorant attitude towards the old people of society. They are venerable but they are not getting it, there are several reasons behind it which can be easily corrected. First, Young generation takes the words of elders as restrictions not as teachings and often offend them and disrespect them by thinking themselves to be wiser than the grownups. Today’s generation from childhood is being taught to live in the split families, so they resist the obligations put by the elders. The second reason, behind this kind of attitude is generation gap. There is a great difference in their thinking and perspective. Old people are regarded as narrow-minded as their thinking and views do not match with the present generation which is highly influenced by the western culture. All this has put a very bad impact on society. The society has turned into barbaric. People no longer believe in their moral values and traditions. Society has totally deprived of things like showing respect and gratitude to their elders. They are so busy in their life that they cannot spare time for those who are known as backbone of society.

Being a good citizen of the world, it becomes each and everyone's responsibility to help the senior citizens. Turning to old age is a cyclic change which everyone has to pass through. Hence, at the time when any old people requires any help, one should always help them. Generally, it is noticed that they do not get much attention which they require in that stage of their life. The young generation often tends to forget that they too will fall for the same in their future.
