                         Online Classes: Pros and Cons

According to whatis.techtarget: ‘A virtual classroom is an online learning environment.  The environment can be web-based and accessed through a portal or software-based and require a downloadable executable file.’

The site further elaborates that just like in a real classroom; a student in a virtual classroom participates and interacts with the teacher like a real class-room teaching-learning interaction.

Pros

So keeping in my mind the above mentioned definition and elaboration, it can be said that virtual classrooms are very much in vogue worldwide. India is no exception. Brainly.in is an example of virtual class. Millions of students learn about various subjects online. Brainly Teachers and Brainly Students participate in the best teaching and learning processes.

The question being discussed here is: Will virtual reality classes replace traditional education? I strongly feel the day is not far when virtual reality classes will replace traditional classes. Computers and internet have revolutionized each and everything. The best advantage about them is they are extremely time-saving. One need not travel and incur travelling expenses. Besides saving time, they save many other inconveniences such as traffic jams, exposure to harsh weather conditions etc.

Keeping in mind the success of already existing virtual classes, it can be predicted that soon virtual reality classes will replace traditional classes. With the passage of time there will be better technology such as web conferencing, video conferencing, livestreaming, and web-based VoIP and virtual classes will become more convenient, effective, and efficacious.

Cons

Online teaching requires utmost sincerity and focus.

It can affect one’s eye-sight.

It may not function in case the network is poor.

Poorer sections of society can’t afford it as they don’t have an internet connection or a computer or smartphone.
