We people are following this system from several years. But it has very bad effect in the society.
It ruined several lives of women. An ancient time this was just to gift something to the family of boy. But now people are demanding it as it's their right.
Father of girl faces so much difficulties due to this. The boy's family compells to give dowry at any cost.
Because of the huge demand many need to sell their property just because they wish a good future of their daughter.
Dowry is really a curse for society. In the 21st century also, we are doing it. This need to be stopped. A father also spend money on their daughter then what's the need of dowry.
There is law for those who ask for dowry but despite people demand it without any fear. They also exploit girls if her father could not fullfill their demand.
Government should take strict action on these types of people. We also need to change our mindset.
