Excessive use of Phones by Students
one may wonder, with the changing technology, is the use of phones a blessing or curse to students? one thing for sure, students have misused internet and phones. instead of researching meaningful content they are always n you tube, searching for useless things. that is time wasted which would have been diverted to doing meaningful things like reading. i am one of the activists against allowing mobile phones in schools. students can never concentrate. social media has become the norm with our students. imagine a scenario where you are teaching and students are sending each other what sap messages. it is crazy. i would rather they first study and find phones at home when they go for holiday. it is next to impossible for student to concentrate in class when there is a video trending on YouTube. excessive use of phones and internet to students has brought more harm than good. there is also a lot of misguiding information o the internet. no wonder kids of this generation are becoming unruly and stubborn at an early age. it is because they constantly want to imitate the lifestyle of people especially celebrities they normally watch on internet. There you have it, if you asked me my opinion on the use of phones by students, i would say a big NO. as a matter of fact in my household, no phones until my kids join university. Try it, it might work for you otherwise phones and internet are spoiling our students and they are slowly slipping form our hands at our watch. Parents, teachers, wake up.
Mobile phones and internet have a number of uses and have become almost a necessity.
On the other hand they have affected the younger generations which spend a lot of their time on these.
This not only keeps them away from academics but also from outdoor activities which affects their overall health.
