In the male-dominated society, the females are looked upon and neglected. The society is run by the males. The males are favoured in every way. On the other hand, the girls are much less educated and treated unfairly. They are expected to run the household and raise children, while the men work outside and help sustain their individual families financially.
If a boy can take up a scholarship to study overseas or in the city, then a girl should be given the same opportunity if she deserves it. In the home, boys and girls should share equally in the housework. Parents should not insist that girls cook while boys get away on with their homework.
There are no good reasons why boys should receive more education than girls. Or why girls should not be educated at all.
It is an obvious fact that both boys and girls are both human beings; that is, we both belong to the same species. Despite biological differences, they are essentially equal. And, it is a law of nature that members of any species have the same opportunities in life as all other animals. Look at the birds. They have the same chances of survival, of finding food. Why do we need to make it harder for the other half of our species?
Intellectually, it has been proven that girls are the equals of boys in most cases, and even superior in some. Look the great women scientists, leaders and pioneers such as Marie Curie, Indira Gandhi, and Mother Teresa. Do you think that they could have achieved what they did if they had not been educated? Of course not. They would have been sitting at home, cooking meals for the dominant male, and the world would have been the poorer for it. We can't stand to suppress some of our best brains in the society for the sake of prejudice.
No, women are not just pretty things to be admired for their sex appeal and disregarded for any serious conversation. They have minds and brains just the same as men and can hold their own on any topic they are interested in.
Not only that, an educated girl can pass the knowledge to her children, as well. She can ensure a sound upbringing of children, who are the nation's tomorrow. Thus, Napolean said rightly, "Give me an educated mother, I will give you an educated nation."
Nowadays, women hold equal contribution to the economy and development of the country. They are being successful in every work sector. The women literacy has increased by leaps and bounds. And so has the nation's development. Educating women is equivalent to helping the nation rise.
Hope this helps you! :-)
