India is a great nation with more than 3,000 years of history and civilization. Our culture has seen great nations come and fall, new languages and religions emerge and has seen the growth of humanity as we know it.

However, in today's age, as more and more people move to cities and population increases, it is become very hard to maintain our old architectural heritage, both in cities and in rural areas.

Some people argue that the old should be replaced with the India, as China has done to build huge modern cities. While it is important to develop new modern cities to accommodate people, it is equally vital to preserve our history and culture so that the coming generations can learn about our forefathers, where we came from and feel proud of themselves.

Even today, millions of Indians visit European cities and are left in awe of the old beautiful buildings. Why can't we do the same for India?
Yes it costs money to maintain these buildings but the amount of tax collection from tourism it brings in and the cultural and socio-economic advantages it brings far outweigh the costs.
