Dental Health is Vital for Overall Health

Health is the foremost prerequisite for a happy and fulfilling life. Dental health is extremely important aspect of the general health. Though any pain in the body is unbearable, however dental pain is the most agonizing one. Famous poet Ogden Nash has very rightly said about dental pain:

                                    “Some tortures are physical
                                      And some are mental,
But the one that is both
                                      Is dental.”

Dental health is of utmost importance for many reasons. First, if we don’t look after our teeth well, they will corrode, erode, and develop cavities. These cavities will destroy our peace of mind. We will have to undergo unbearable pain and all aspects of life will suffer. We won’t be able to study and work optimally.

Secondly, poor dental hygiene might cause bad breath making us appear repulsive. People will avoid us; no one would like to be in our company. On the other hand, good dental health makes us attractive and agreeable.

It has been observed that in spite of the significance of dental hygiene, very few people care to look after their teeth. If we care for our teeth daily, we will never face dental problems. Just brushing our teeth properly and daily, especially before going to bed can really save us from many dental troubles. There is a famous saying about dental health: “If you cannot clean your teeth, no dentist can do it for you.”  We must sincerely follow the precept ‘Prevention is better than cure’ to keep our dental hygiene.
