Because, India is your motherland.Did you ever ask your mother about what reasons she has to expect respect from you?
Or do you reason out with yourself thinking about the pros and cons, and then deciding whether you should respect your parents or not.
I'm guessing the answer would be, No!Why?Because it is your duty to respect them. They gave birth to you and you can never repay this debt. So the least you can do for them is love them, respect them and take care of them.Same applies for your motherland. You breathe its air, eat food grown on this land, live on this land. It provides you with everything. It is like a mother, and I hope you don't doubt that!If you need reasons to respect the land, where you and your parents and even your grandparents may have been born, then, in my opinion you can never truly respect it..You should always respect your country. There is no way around. Thanks for A2A. :)EDIT: National integrity, is in my opinion secondary to the respect aspect. One who does not respect his/her country won't feel the togetherness and brotherhood with the countrymen. And as to why it is important, I will point out the same thing in a different manner. When we consider our land as our mother, we own its citizens as family too. You don't simply just love your mother and hate your siblings, do you? We stand together in both good and bad times. When we respect our country, we work to improve it. And that's where integrity is tested. The will to work together as a family to a better future. We need integrity so that we can selflessly work for our country and our people. Our soldiers are the best examples.
