Answer:

It has been a notion for years that if everything in life comes easy for you, and you don't have to struggle through something, then that is the perfect life. Everyone doesn't like how life seems to always throw obstacles at them that they have to jump over or work around; they envy those people who seem to have life "handed" to them. Yet, those are the people who really have it rough.

Life, isn't meant to be a smooth time where we simply experience things and move on without a hitch. The purpose is for us to experience that hardships of life, that way we can learn from them. Yet, no one wants to accept this. They see these hard times as annoying and a waste of time. They see no point in what they are having to do. All they want to do is be at their end goal in life, because only then they will think that they are happy and complete. This seems to be the only thing that people seem to care about and strive for.

What's the importance of struggling? It builds you into the person that you are supposed to be. Your struggles in life are what simply make you, you. The obstacles that you are tasked with, the problems that you must face, they all help you become a better person. Take the phrase "Smooth seas don't make good sailors." for instance. A well talented sailor, one who can command their ship through any storm at any time, couldn't have learned how to do that if every time they were out on the water it was calm and as smooth as glass. They have to have had the experience of sailing on rough seas, in order to become a master at the trade. The same goes for everything else in life that you have to learn. How do you know how to use a computer if you avoid it? How do you drive a car if you've never been in one? How can you learn to tie your shoes if you have only ever worn sandals? You have to face what challenges you, because only then will you learn from it.

You will fail in life (sorry to break it to you). It is once you fail, that you learn to be a better person. Take risks in your life, because once you fail at them, you learn what to do next time. If you succeed, then lucky you, but you still learn from what you did. Living life trying to avoid everything that could go wrong, is the one way that will actually lead to things going wrong. Push yourself to see what type of person you really are. Push yourself to limit of breaking, and then learn to put yourself back together. Once you learn to be able to pick up your pieces, and glue them back together, then you learn who you are really meant to be in this life that we live.
