The whole of June was scorching hot; the heat pain was plain unbearable as the rain remained mainly elusive. One felt under the weather (feeling sad, unwell, lacking energy) because of the soaring mercury. The cooling showers showered on us only towards the end of July and in August, it was pouring. Soon, the precipitation was not alone; it brought misery along with it. The dance of the drenching drizzle deepened into a tandav that descended a deluge of destruction, disaster, despair and death. The fated fall had formed into a furious figure, flooding the fields that it fell on.
