AGRICULTURE IS THE LEADING CAUSE OF DEFORESTATION. EVEN IF THE AGRICULTURAL LAND IS GIVEN BACK TO NATURE, IT HAS LOST THE BIODIVERSITY THAT ONCE LIVED ON IT.

A TREE PRODUCES 260 POUNDS OF OXYGEN IN A YEAR. ALSO, IN A YEAR TREE CAN ABSORB AS MUCH CARBON DIOXIDE PRODUCED BY A CAR DRIVING 26,000 MILES. RESEARCH SHOWS THAT 15.3 BILLION TREES ARE CUT DOWN EVERY YEAR.

ONE AND A HALF ACRES OF FOREST IS DEFORESTED EVERY SECOND.
