Today in India, though we make an assessment that we know a girl, but it’s a universal truth that we don’t understand her. Today we are living in the 21st century and the 68th year of India’s Independence. We have developed a lot since that time, in many fields and in many aspects. But only one aspect that we are lagging behind in is Women aspect. But are still a backward mentality in context of a girl. She is still deprived of her rights.

People do know that a girl is as important as boys, but all our first priority is for boys. You cannot gulp this truth down that it is still there prevalent in many parts of our country. Girls are “An Else Wealth” (Paraya Dhan) and educating them is like wasting money as she has to get married and after that she’ll look after her family. It so happens sometimes that initially the girl is unable to progress and for many obvious reasons her parents get her engaged/married. Here i want to raise a question to our Indian society, is marriage a solution to every problem?

In today’s era, we do criticize the things against girls, but only to some extent. Still today a girl is a burden on us if she’s crossed the age of her marriage, because then it’s the societal pressure and we are not ready for the upshot. Think, if there wouldn’t have been any woman in this world, then how would you have survived? It’s only a girl, a sister, a wife, a mother, a daughter who are always there for us, whenever we need them, from our birth till our last breath.

In this generation, every day we hear about many rape cases, dowry death cases, molestation and harassment cases, cases of killing an infant girl or throwing her in a Public Bin, suicide cases. Why? Because we have a habit of facing everything? A new trend has risen, many fake Godmen and Godwomen who have made it their business of diverting a person’s mind by saying  ‘Oh! You have a girl child, that means you are paying for you last birth sins.’ Then these people loot us, for we now need a baby boy.

We are living in era, which has continued from last ages where a woman or a girl is under her parental pressure to face whatever her husband do to her. She’s expected to live like a slave all way. In 70% of small Indian cities, a girl’s freedom is barred. She’s not allowed to keep out of the house after dusk falls and is expected to obey her parents’ orders, on the other hand a boy is never asked what is he doing? Where is he going? With whom is he going? Etc. Though it’s a different scenario for metropolitan cities. It was rightly said by our honourable Prime Minister in his speech ‘Just keep at most 10% of the restrictions on your son’s that you have on your daughter’s. I bet after that India would be a much safer place for girls.’
