The concept of simultaneous elections: This perception is not novel in India. After Independence and enforcement of Constitution, the first election which was conducted in the year of 1952 was conducted simultaneously. It was in practice from 1952 to 1970 i.e. 1952, 1957, 1962 and 1967. This concept was ended when fourth Lok Sabha was liquidated early. This recommendation is again raised by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the idea is also supported by the former President Pranab Mukherjee and current President Ram Nath Kovind.

One Nation-One Election is whirled around the need to save valued resources and bring the country out of a continuous election mode. There are two facets to this debate.
