When I was 5, I stood on an empty street,
and waited for a yellow bus,
painted in flowers.
It was the first day of school,
and I carved my neck
to see you standing by the window,
watching over me,
When the bus arrived,
I smiled and I climbed.
All my friends were inside
and we played a game,
where we made up imaginary lies,
about how strong our mothers were.
I said, “My mother is so strong,
she can lift me up, on her own!”
And of course I lost for such a tame lie,
