So, Ashton, this is an interesting graph to deal with. I'll help with the first and you get the 2nd.
So, moving up and down is not grouped with x, so our equation becomes y = x + 3
Moving left and right is grouped with x and is inversed, so we have y = (x - 5)
Put them together for y = (x - 5) + 3
Yes, this simplifies to y = x - 2, but leave it the other way to help later.
For example, doing the same thing with y = x2 would look like y = (x - 5)2 + 3.
