SOLUTION

TO DETERMINE

An equation of the line parallel to the given line 3x + 4y = 14

EVALUATION

Here the given equation of the line is

3x + 4y = 14

This equation is of the form ax + by = c

We know that for any given line ax + by = c

The equation of the line parallel to ax + by = c is ax + by = k

Since the given line is 3x + 4y = 14

So equation of the line parallel to above line is of the form 3x + 4y = k

If we take k = 7 we obtain an equation

Hence one of the required equation is

3x + 4y = 7
