The Glory Help Foundation, a non-governmental organisation aimed at supporting the needy in society, has been launched in Accra with a call on members of the society to help the needy.
Rev. Prince Marcles, president of the foundation, during the launch of the charity organisation, over the weekend, said he decided to form the foundation in order to help needy but brilliant children in society.
He said, “As a pastor, I have seen people with a lot of needs so I said, let me start this foundation to be a blessing to these people.”
He also noted that the focus of the foundation will be to support poor families and needy but brilliant children.
“We are extending financial help to many people who are in need; we want to make sure people with various kinds of needs get help, some may be health, others will be education and some will be just for somebody to push them forward. So we are not limiting ourselves to only education; we will target the hinterlands,” he said.
He further noted that the foundation would build hospitals, put people in school and on scholarship, adopt needy but brilliant students and help them achieve their dreams and visions.
“In the next five years, not only Ghana should hear about us, but the whole world would know about us because we believe in the fact that Africa must be able to develop if we are able to share our burdens, if we are able to help each other,” he said.
He said although people were committed to helping the needy, they needed to continue, as the issue of people having all kinds of problems may never stop and thus called on other well-meaning Ghanaians to come on board to join the foundation to ensure it achieves its goals.
“Much as people are in need, it is our responsibility as neighbours to help each other,” he said.
The Chairman for the occasion, Nana Dr. S. K. B. Asante, in his remarks commended Rev. Prince Marcles for the initiative to help the poor in society.
He noted that it was gratifying that the work of Jesus Christ was being done on earth.
He said, “It is refreshing to see a pastor committed to the needs of the poor in the society.”
