The Indian Army (Hindi: Bhāratīya Thala Sēnā) is the land-based branch and the largest component of the Indian Armed Forces. The President of India is the Supreme Commander of the Indian Army,[4] and it is commanded by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), who is a four-star general. Two officers have been conferred with the rank of field marshal, a five-star rank, which is a ceremonial position of great honour. The Indian Army originated from the armies of the East India Company, which eventually became the British Indian Army, and the armies of the princely states, which finally became the national army after independence. The units and regiments of the Indian Army have diverse histories and have participated in a number of battles and campaigns across the world, earning many battle and theatre honours before and after Independence.

World largest youngest youth of country feel safe Because of these soldiers .In India Commando can be of Army ,BSF ,CiSF and it is also taken from state police .They are selected According to him/her physical ability. The period is approx 5 year it may be extended according to fitness of body or work .Age too matter in the selection of commando .They are well trained by respective rank of Karnal ,General etc and also they get trained in other countries .
The main motto of Indian Commando is to protect the country from any type of war , disasters .Taj hotel attack and Kargil attack a major role played by Indian Commando mainly NSG (National security guard ) .
They have to show him/her presence in duty when required .They never say No or excuse .They are well drsipline and loyal .
