MY FIRST EXPERIENCE OF RIDING A CYCLE

I had seen many young lads and lasses riding cycles in ease - even I thought I could learn it in a nick of a time until I actually got one........

I got my first bicycle at a very young age - a sparkling red one with shiny handles and the manufacturer's logo in gold. You cannot go past it without a single glance. I was really excited on getting one and climbed on top of it. I could hear many elders of my house and others of the locality screaming for me to ride slowly or asking me whether they needed to accompany me. I just smiled at all of them, cause I knew my friends would accompany me to my first disastrous journey in life.

My friends had already learnt how to learn a cycle. They were well-experienced kiddos who could cycle with just their front wheel and so on. We took our cycles to valley that overlooks a cliff and slowly started learning the basic techniques. Being a speedy learner, I learned them all and started pedaling down the valley speeding down the curves and bends. Things seemed good at first but all of it changed suddenly.

We were pedaling quite fine at first but then down a huge hairpin curve I could see 2 buffaloes grazing on some fresh grass. I knew them quite well cause those beasts were once responsible for making our 'nagar gurkha' to stay in hospital for 2 weeks.

Suddenly all of those things I studied a few minutes ago started draining from my brain. My palms became sweaty. There wasn't much I could do - If I apply breaks, I would fall down the valley, If I move on..I would become chutney by hitting those majestic buffaloes.

Nearing those buffaloes, I closed my eyes and left the handles. That was when my friends came into action. One of them speeded down to my right side where there was a cliff and pushed my cycle to the left which left me and the 'brand-new' cycle on the ground completely dazed and they stopped their cycles in some manner I still don't know.

The buffaloes who saw and heard all these mess looked at us with eyes that said 'Have they gone mad? We know we should move when a cycle comes' and slowly moved out of the way.

For the next three or four months I never touched my cycle and I only started cycling again after getting pressurized by friends.

I had many experiences in doing my firsts but my cycling experience would be the most exciting as well as scary experience I ever had.

Answer:

My First Experience of riding a cycle

__________________________________

I think I learnt how to ride a bicycle at 6 or 7 years old. It’s quite vauge but I still remember some parts as they will be one of my best memories.

I learnt how to ride a bicycle with my grandpa. I used to those bikes which had 2 wheels supporting the back wheel so I dont fall. I learnt slowly how to pedal, steer, turn and brake properly. Once I felt comfortable my grandpa took off one of the wheels that supported the back wheel. At firsr it felt weird and of course I panicked and I fell. It hurt I guess (dont remember). I tried to get used to it and eventually I did get used to it. Then my grandpa took of the other wheel but attached the other one. It was to make sure I knew how to balance on each side properly. Once I got the hang of that, my grandpa evetually took off both of the wheels.

At first I was like, ‘yeah I’m going to fall’. Of course I fell. But I just kept learning until I felt comfortable and eventually I felt this sensation of freedom, it was like flying in the skies. I felt like an eagle soaring through the sky. It felt different. That was when I fell in love with cycling.
