It is an auspicious festival celebrated with great enthusiasm all over the country. It is the festival of lights. The celebration starts few days ahead of the Diwali day with crackers and sweets. You can see lights everywhere in every house. Diyas and crackers are kept in every home and everyone from children to elders enjoy the festival. Diwali marks the death of evil man Ravana, killed by Lord Rama. It is considered as the day when good succeeded the evil.
I love Diwali festival because the day is filled with lights and I love burning crackers and lighting diyas. We wear new clothes early morning after taking oil bath. The day has so many sweets and delicacies prepared at home. All the shops and markets are decorated with lights. Everyone light candles, lamps, and divas in their homes. People worship Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi on this day praying for good wealth, prosperity and fortune. Diwali is not a single day celebration.
