Where there is light there is darkness, where there is pleasure there is pain. Thus life is a chequered board of joys and sorrows. Dreams that are pleasant are loved by all or they leave behind pleasant memories. But when they are unpleasant, they become a haunting nightmare. I once had such a horrible dream that the mere thought of it makes me shudder. I try to forget it but it haunts me and pursues me.

I dreamt that I was enjoying myself in a rowboat in the company of my cousin Hye-rim. It was a bright, sunny day and the two of us were having great fun, singing, joking, teasing. All of a sudden, Hye-rim’s bag fell into the water. She started groping for it with his hand while I tried to keep the balance of the boat. We were both startled by a sudden sound in water. We turned round and found ourselves staring down by the throat of a crocodile nearly four metres long, its jaws open like a giant trap. We were numb with fright. Hye-rim raised her left arm in a gesture of defence and the bristling rows of sharp teeth snapped together, its jaws firmly fixed on Hye-rim's arm. She gasped in anguish and cried for help. As I saw blood gushing from Hye-rim's arm, I stood riveted from the iron grip of the crocodile but the ugly monster tightened its hold on her.

As soon as I recovered my wits, I started screaming for help. But there was no one around. The crocodile was splashing with renewed fury. The water reached above Hye-rim's waist now and she had despair written on her face and I thought I'd lost her. I lashed out at the crocodile with the oar in my hand and it released Hye-rim's arm. But to my horror it broke through the water again with a noisy splash and came towards me. I staggered , my face deathly white and expressionless. The crocodile gave sharp tug to the boat. I was swept off my feet and was under the water too.

And then suddenly I woke up screaming desperately for help. I was surprised to find that I was in my bed and my mumma (mother) was standing near me. For a moment I couldn't believe that I had been dreaming. My mumma (mother) reassured me that it was only a dream and I felt comforted. But till today the chill in my spine and my heart starts pumping fast when I think about that nightmare....

Essay Writing

 \boxed{“ \: A  \: dream  \: I \:  can't  \: forget \: ”.}

I jumped out of the bed at Midnight. I had seen a very weird dream.

I was sitting in my astrophysics class. Suddenly my bench converted into the pilot's seat and the room had transformed into the cockpit of a/the space-ship. The room was full of twinkling control-switches and the computer said, We are facing turbulence ! The atmosphere of Saturn is more dangerous than expected ”.

The temperature was going up. The dense atmosphere was producing unprecedented friction.

“System paralysis !”, the system exclaimed. I was already sweating. We were not prepared for such a situation.

“Oh! My God! My seat is on fire!”, I yelled and pushed on pilot-ejection button with the fear whether I would be able to breathe on Saturn or not? And thank God! It was not Saturn. It was my home in Satana and my brother's call had just ejected me out of my bed - my dream space-ship.
