                    Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam
You have to dream before they can come true.
Great dreams of greater dreamers are always transcended.
To succeed in your mission, you must have a single-minded devotion to your goal.
These are messages given to us by Dr. Kalam, who saw them to be true.       Dr. Kalam was born in Rameswaram on October 15, 1931.  He became a scientist and the missile man of India and later our 11th President from 2002 to 2007.  He died recently in Shillong on 27th July.    Dr. Kalam’s father was a poor person from Muslim religion. So he worked as a newspaper boy in childhood. He had to earn for himself and his family to add to this family's income.  He distributed newspapers in the morning and did other such jobs.      He seriously wanted to be educated.  But he was only an average student. But he was hardworking and sincere.  He passed physics degree with a serious effort.  Then he joined and completed Aerospace Engineering.  He faced a lot of difficulties with courage and hard work.  At some point of time his educational career was in jeopardy.
Afterwards, he had joined DRDO and then his life changed to a new phase. He managed projects with success.  He was a gentle man, technocrat and more of a good manager than a pure scientist.  He had support from political and influential persons.  Prime minister Indira Gandhi and other ministers encourage him for various projects he did. He was supported for his role on missiles.  He became an adviser to the prime minister. He became involved in politics and technology.  He gained respect from all sides within India and worldwide too.

He became the president, as he was a non-controversial, qualified and well educated. He grew from a low family to the First Citizen of India.  He was a Muslim, but the religion never came in between.  He was not married in his life.  He dedicated his life to the nation, progress of science and technology missions (especially in defence), to support his poor family members.  He gave many inspiring lectures and lessons to young students.  There are even lessons about him in some text books for children.

He has every reason to be happy that his journey had been incredible. He had luck in his favour and he benefitted from positive opportunities.  Dr. Kalam picked them and did not misuse them.  He did his hard work to move forward each occasion.
Rest In Peace, Dr Kalam, patriotic son of India !
