Write an essay on - Aatmanirbhar Bharat - How can school children contribute to National Development?
Answers
With more than 180 million school children in India, the young generation is a force that is yet to show it's true strength. Children have the energy to help the nation fight the problems that are hampering its progress and then steer India onto the path towards becoming Aatmanirbhar Bharat or self- reliant India.
To begin with school children can organise and participate in numerous awareness campaigns to fight problems like pollution. For instance, if each child consciously refuses to use plastic tiffins and bottles and is careful about not littering in public places, pollution levels will drop drastically. The time, money and effort currently being spent by the government to handle pollution can then be used more creatively towards developing a self-reliant nation.
Additionally, our nation suffers from acute illiteracy. This illiteracy translates into higher unemployment and crime rates. School children can help here by trying to educate underprivileged children of domestic helpers. While the government looks at literacy in terms of figures, these children will be able to deal with their not-so-fortunate counterparts on a one-to-one basis. This will help motivate both sets of children, to impart and gain education. An educated nation is better adapted to technological progress and efforts towards self-reliance.
As unrealistic as it may sound, school children have the potential to change the face of the nation and help fight issues that the country is facing and put it on a progressive trajectory, to take it to a level when India can truly claim its position as Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
Essay on 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat - How can school children contribute to National Development'
" It is not just the emotion, but it is the emotion+execution that makes the mission successful."
Aatmanirbhar Bharat - A self-reliant India, was the dream of most of the visionary and veteran freedom achievers of India, including Gandhi. It is still the dream for many. There is a need to make this dream come true, and what else be the big opportunity to implement than the time we are living in the global crisis emotionally, economically, and socially, due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.
Self-reliance is a big thing. A good future of a country and its people lies in the quality of self-reliance nurtured in the little minds. Children's minds are quick to grasp and adapt things, thereby turning them into habits. Making them habituated to adopt the innate campaigns like anti-corruption, rural initiatives, eco-friendly measures, and the qualities to put the ideas into action, to be generous and kind - trains them to become independent adults, easily.
"It shouldn't be just a day thing or teaching. Perhaps, it should be a continuous and unstoppable process - It should be a Learning."
A strong nation comes with pure and innovative minds. Habituating the children to own such qualities will make them contribute more and more for their country and its people. And that's what should be the exact motto of the initial schoolings. To make the minds of children attract the quality of being self-reliant.
A step towards Anti-Corruption:
One of the most important problems every common man of India is facing - Corruption. From a small post to giant government policy - everything is running with the pour of money on an itchy hand. Everyone knows that it is illegal and immoral, but doesn't know how to fight against it due to the lack of awareness about the strength of the rights a common man possesses.
Making children learn about how to use their rights full-fledged makes them adopt corruption-free thoughts. One should be taught about the consequences of choosing to be a dishonest man. Implementing this would help the next generation to fight against corruption, and in building a corruption-free country.
Go eco-friendly:
While India is running towards development, it has failed to see the destruction of the environment happening around by the deeds. Students should be taught the importance of campaigns like go-green, save-water, etc. Planting the saplings, the techniques of rainwater harvesting, going for terrace gardenings, to raise their voices against deforestation should be made as a habit from the earlier stage itself. The more they become addicted to such beautiful things, the better society will be.
Rural initiatives:
Developing rural areas is one of the important factors that can make India, a developed nation. Again, development doesn't come by adopting non-eco-friendly measures. Rather, the development of Rural areas comes by the development and increase in opportunities to its people. Students should be taught about the plenty of chances and resources we have
- To help in bringing the local artisans into the limelight ( through e-commerce sites)
- To be skilled in different areas of agriculture, medicine, watershed management, etc.
- About adopting the microfinancing opportunity to give life to their big dreams.
- About digital farming, and measures to follow (Testing the sample of the soil of the land, and to determine which crop will be ideal to farm in the land for the season and yields well.)
- Educating others. (Helps in improving the literacy rate and in developing the lifestyle.)
and many more...
Ethics and values:
The bitter truth is, people are failing to notice what hurricane is going in the mind of the person sitting next to them. The mental stress bar is increasing. The quality of helping others and being kind has gotten rusted. Ethics and morals are long gone due to our busy lives.
Students should be taught about the strength that lies in ethics and values. They should be nurtured by the good qualities from the start itself, like to stand for a person without expecting anything back. Simply, the give and take relations in personal lives should end. This will help in creating a positive and healthy environment in the society.
Conclusion:
And the list goes on. The students should be exposed to the essence of being independent in life. Their learnings should begin with putting the ideas and their beliefs into action, with the awareness of what's right and what's wrong. Simply, practicality right from the beginning becomes the reality else, the expectations remain as a dream.
