She had thick black hair, an oval face and nails with bright red polish on them. When she looked in the mirror now she saw an older lady with gray hair, wrinkles on her face, and yellow nails. Her face is wrinkled because she has lost “subcutaneous fat and water beneath the skin’s surface” (pg. 30).
