Democracy is known as the best form of government and people choose it to remove the corruption, hunger and poverty. In India, democracy is also unsuccessful, which has now lead to poverty and illiteracy.
On the other hand, poverty is known as the worst social evil which caused due to illiteracy, population and corruption. For example, Suppose there are four members in a family, in which only three people are a source of earning money. Let say that they earn 6000, 5000 and 5000. Then the per capita income of the family is Rs. 4000. We can say that in India, the per capita income is very less.
Democracy is a form of government in which the rulers are elected by the people.
Some best features of Democracy are :
- Major decisions are taken by elected leaders.
- Provides equality and maintenance of peace in the society.
- Free and fair electoral competitions.
- One person, one vote, one value.
-Rule of law and respect for rights.
- Democratic government rules within limits set by constitutional laws and citizens' rights.
- Democracy enhances the dignity of citizens.
But still India has not developed in democracy because it has not brought any improvement in poverty cases.
Poverty is a social and economic evil which is caused by illiteracy and population.
For an example:
If in a family of four members,
only one two earns 2000 as their wages,
Its a bad situation of leading life by earning only 4000 per month.
Democratic government of India is not complete successful in enhancing the betterment of poverty case.
This is also an important matter of development of India.
