The most exciting day of my life as an adult was finding out that I had another chance at getting a college education. That made me very happy and thrilled because I realized that I not only needed that second chance, I was actually getting it. Before I was given that second chance at getting a college education, I had gotten kicked out of the previous college that I had attended for getting in trouble and I failed many of my classes because I was too immature and didn’t care. After that episode I had to take time off to go to a technical school and was about to settle at mastering a trade so that I could quickly go into the work force when I took an English class and discovered, after taking it, that getting an English Literature degree would be the right path for me. I told my parents about that decision that I made and at first they were uneasy about it and were unsure if I could do it or not. But then they promised me that if I could keep my grades at A’s and B’s and they would greatly consider it. Therefore, I did so and now I am about to move into Newberry College on the 19th of August with a major in English (secondary education concentration) and a minor in Creative Writing.
