Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Guru of the Sikh community, was born on April 18, 1621, in Amritsar, Punjab.
His father’s name was Guru Hargobind Ji, and his mother’s name was Nanki.
Seeing his bravery and sacrifice in his childhood, every Govind Ji had renounced his name.
Pujya Bahadur Ji of Hindus and Sikhs formally received the title of Sikh Guru on March 20, 1664, and in 1675, he attained the title of Gurupada.
After the sudden demise of Harikrishna Rai Ji, he was appointed to the post of Guru.
He settled in Anandpur Sahib and started living here; there was resentment towards the Mughals since childhood; only at the age of 14, he fought with his father against the Mughals.
Seeing the bloodshed in the war with the Mughals, his mind was inspired towards spiritual thinking.
And going to a place called Baba Bakala, Tegh Bahadur Ji did penance for 20 years.
Called Hind Di Chadar, the Guru also traveled to many places for preaching religion.
In this order, he went from Anandpur Saheb to Kiratpur, Planting, Saifabad, and while teaching in Khiala, he reached Kadamanakpur via Kurukshetra and met his Guru Bhai Malukdas Ji here.
