Guru Teg Bahadur was the leader of Sikhs and uniformedly founded the Sikh religion. He was born in Amritsar back in 1621. He was not only a learned scholar but wrote many hymns which became an eminent part of the Holy book Guru Granth Sahib. He used to be a trained warrior and fought in the battle of Kiratpur Sahib. He won the war and was renamed as Tegh Bahadur from Tyag Mall. He used to travel around the country a lot and built many manjis, preaching center for the Sikhs. Beside all these, he showed exceptional leadership qualities during his lifetime which will always be glorified in the pages of history. During his time Mughal Empire was in conflict with the community. Guru Teg Bahadur was hence arrested and was given three options i.e., to show some miracle or covert to Islam or to die by Aurangzeb. He chose the third option and sacrificed himself for the freedom of religion.
