Kunwar Singh (1777 – 1858) was an Indian freedom fighter and prominent leader during the Indian rebellion of 1857, against the British.
He was the son of Maharaja Shahabzada Singh and Maharani Panchratan Devi of Shahabad in Bihar (currently the Bhojpur district). He was a good strategist, an expert in guerrilla warfare and a valiant fighter, who fought several battles against the British.
Kunwar Singh fought the Indian rebellion of 1857 when he was 80 years old. He fought well, even at this old age and inflicted casualties on the British, remaining elusive till the end.
