Answer:

William Shakespeare, the famous renaissance writer, was known for his deep and profound plays. In Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare sends out a message: Love is not only fragile, but it is dangerous as well.

Firstly, William Shakespeare portrays love to be fragile throughout the rocky relationship that Romeo had with Rosaline. For example, when Benvolio and Montague are chatting about the gloomy state of mind that Romeo is in, Benvolio promises to find out the reason for his temporary depression. He talks to Romeo and eventually finds out the cause of his sadness: “In sadness, cousin, I do love a woman… She will not stay the siege of loving terms” (1.1.213…220). Romeo’s relationship with his girlfriend, who the reader finds out to be Rosaline, takes the wrong turn and ends. Similarly, this causes Romeo’s heart to metaphorically shatter into bits and pieces. In addition, love is shown to be fragile because Romeo’s world turns upside down, which causes him to act out of character. Romeo is a Montague and Juliet is a Capulet. Their families are bitter enemies, which means that Romeo and Juliet aren’t allowed to be with each other. However, Romeo risks his life by sneaking onto her yard in order to see her. He might fall while climbing the wall surrounding her house, or a Capulet might catch him, which would lead to his death. Similarly, they both risk their lives in order to marry each other. They even risk
