Essay on Max Beerbohm's views on the modern craze for speed:

In the essay "Speed", Max Beerbohm, describes different situations that had an impact on his life as a result of speed and how it influenced the ordinary person's day-to-day activities. He makes an argument for a compassionate perspective on life while studying the features of speed in its context. Cars weren't what they are now back then. They were completely exposed to the elements, had no windscreens, and in nice, dry weather, the air surged into the lungs with extreme force.

According to Beerbohm, the discovery of the Mercedes has significantly increased our part in History. In certain ways, people have always liked speed. There's been no denying that speed is a lot of fun. It appears that most of us find something in machinery that is not emotionally conductive. A man on a horse or sailing a boat in a strong wind appeals to us and makes for a potential literary art subject. However, the individual in the motorized vehicle—be it an airplane, boat, or car—is strangely less inspirational.
