The nation is ours. Therefore, its the duty of us, the citizens of India, to keep our mother Earth clean. It is rightly said, "Precaution is better than cure." So, its better to keep our nation clean instead cleaning it after dirting it.
Firstly, we, the citizens of India, need to realise that it is only and only our's duty to keep India clean. We should realise there can be many diseases due to the unclean environment. According to a report by WHO ( World Health Organisation ), the four main diseases influenced by poor environments are diarrhoea, respiratory infections, various forms of unintentional injuries and malaria.
There are very simple things that we can do to contribute in cleaning India. They are :- We shouldn't litter and throw the waste in dustbin only ; We should educate people on what is cleanliness and sanitation ; We should plant more and more trees ; We should follow the three dustbin system of seperating dry biodegradable waste, wet biodegradable waste and non-biodegradable waste and We should make people aware of the consequences of unclean surroundings.
There has been a 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' campaign launched by the government of India to make India a clean India. This campaign was officially launched by the government on 145th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on 2nd October, 2014. It was launched on cremation place of Mahatma Gandhi which is Rajghat in New Delhi.
Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan is necessary in order to eradicate the manual scavenging system. It is necessary to improve the quality of life of people in rural areas. And the most important necessity is to bring the dream of Bapu really come true.
Some people think that the motto of the government behind this campaign is to collect votes but no they all are wrong. Our government wants to see our India clean.
Thereby we should take this pledge that :-
"I will initiate the quest for cleanliness with myself, my family, my locality and my work place. I shall devote an hour or two per week to contribute in cleaning my surroundings. Neither I will litter nor I will let anyone else litter. With the firm believe that the citizens can only make the nation clean, I will propogate the message of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan."
