My favorite South Korean person is Ban Ki-moon. He is a world famous diplomat, politician, and diplomat. He gained world recognition when he became the eighth secretary general of United Nations from 2007 to 2016.
Before assuming his United Nations responsibilities he was the foreign minister of South Korea. As UN Secretary General he initiated many reforms on the international arena. He did a remarkable work in bringing peacekeeping force in Sudan. He also did commendable work in bringing the nations together to tackle global warming problem.
Keeping his good work in mind, he was elected as the chairman of International Olympic Committee's Ethics Commission. He is credited to have founded a nonprofit organization Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens. He is very popular in South Korea.
