My hobby is reading. I read story books, magazines, newspapers and any kind of material that I find interesting.

This hobby got started when I was a little girl. I had always wanted my parents to read fairy tales and other stories to me. Soon they got fed up and tired of having to read to me continually. So as soon as I could, I learned to read. I started with simple ABC books. Soon I could read simple fairy tales and other stories. Now I read just about anything that is available.

Reading enables me to learn about so many things that I would otherwise not know. I learned about how people lived in bygone days of magic and mystery. I learned about the wonders of the world, space travel, human achievements, gigantic whales, tiny viruses and other fascinating things of our world.

So I continue to read. Besides being more informed about the world, I also spend my time profitably. It is indeed a good hobby.

Everyone have a hobby one or two. My Favourite Hobby is playing Chess. Playing Chess has been my favourite hobby since I was in class 3rd. I daily spent around half an hour playing chess either online or simply practicing tactics to tackle opponent's openings. In Chess, I'm more comfortable with White not because it's turn is first but because I get an opportunity to open with my choice of opening which is not always the case with Black.

Playing Chess I've gone to District Level five times with a gap of almost an year between each. I've won 2 gold and a silver medal in my respective age category.
Besides Chess is considered to be the most mind developing indoor game. When I get white I love to start with Danish Gambit whereas with Black I tend to trap my opponent with Sicilian Defence.

Child who starts playing chess at a tender age of 5 are said to turn into child prodigy in future not only excelling in academics but also with intelligence. Chess is considered an intelligent choice. Chess teaches how to think different in different situations of life.
