Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi said on Monday that the country's 75th anniversary of independence will demonstrate Sanatan India's pride and the radiance of modern India.
The Prime Minister, speaking at a committee meeting to commemorate 75 years of independence, said, “The 75th anniversary of the independence will be a commemoration of the spirit of the freedom movement and a reflection of the spirit of sacrifice. A tribute to the country's martyrs should be given, as well as a determination to create the India of their dreams. It will display the pride of Sanatan India as well as the radiance of modern India.”
Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi emphasised the significance of public participation, saying, "We have to rejoice this festival of 75 years of independence by bringing 130 crore countrymen together. This event's central theme is public engagement. The country will not advance if no one contributes. Accepting and honouring everyone's efforts is how the country progresses, and we want to follow that example.”
Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has set out five goals for the occasion.
He said, “We must step on with - the ‘Freedom Struggle’, ‘Ideas at 75’, ‘Achievements at 75’, ‘Actions at 75’, and ‘Resolve at 75’. All of this should include the thoughts and views of the country's 130 million people.
He added, “India is now doing things that were unimaginable just a few years ago. The country has finally arrived here after a 75-year journey. Throughout this path, many people have made significant contributions to the country.”
He further added, “There isn't a single place or corner of the world where a son or daughter hasn't devoted their lives for the country.”
PM Mr. Modi added that when these sacrifices and stories are revealed, they would serve as a source of great inspiration.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of India's independence.
On January 31, 2021, in the first Mann ki Baat of 2021, Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi encouraged citizens to write about freedom fighters and their struggles in honour of the country's 75th Independence Day 2021.
