                      Someday when I am older…

Someday when am older, I will have plenty of leisure. I will utilize that leisure in doing productive activities. My top priority will be to establish deep and strong connection with the Almighty through meditation and yoga in a remote place in the mountains.

Apart from enriching my own self, I will also do some social service. I can start by teaching a small number of children from underprivileged families living in my area. I can request my colony's Welfare Society's secretary to allow me to use the Society's building for 3 to 4 hours daily for holding basic literacy classes for the poor children. As the number grows, I can collect donations from my colony members to meet the financial needs of the school for the poor children. If the response is good, i.e. more and more poor students enroll, I can hire more teachers and apply for financial aid to state or central government. Thus I can open other similar branches at other places in the city.

The joys of poor children learning and becoming valuable citizens of my country will give me immense peace and true contentment. So I can do a lot in organizing resources and young people in teaching under-privileged when I am old.

Another very important activity that I can undertake will be planting trees throughout the city. The problem of pollution has gone beyond repair. If immediate large scale tree plantation campaigns are not launched, we may have to face serious consequences. I will also plant thousands of trees in the suburban areas around my city. This will create a green forest belt around the city, enhancing the quality of environment in the city. My family, friends, relatives, and city people will be able to breathe purer air! There is so much one can do for the betterment of one’s city and nation. All we require is the sensitivity to the so many issues we are already struggling with, and the will to do something for fellow brothers and sisters, and our beautiful planet.

These are just a few activities that I may undertake someday when I am old.
