Earth is made of rocks and came into existence billions of years. However, about 70% of earth's surface is covered by water which we see as seas, oceans , rivers etc. Like other planets, earth also moves around the sun in an elliptical path called orbit.

Our home planet, the earth was made from rocks and existed billions of years ago! 70% of the earth is covered by water like rivers, oceans, ponds etc. While 30% is covered by land. Earth moves around the sun in the fixed path, orbit. Earth is the only planet in the solar system which has life. Our planet is home to millions of species. Our planet is called the ''Blue Planet'' because all most the whole planet is blue because of the oceans, rivers and ponds. The name "Earth" is derived from both the English and German word.
