Answer:

Explanation:

There's an old saying, “one man's trash is another man's treasure,” the etymology of which has been lost to time. The meaning is not literal but, typically, a commentary on how there is no judging for taste — what one person may think is worthless may be cherished by another.

The saying is something like, “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure” or “one man’s garbage is another man’s gold” which both mean that what is of little value to one person, may in fact be of great value to another person.

Many times after a long-standing relationship or marriage ends, your self-esteem can take a beating. The ugly “Why” questions can plague the mind and if allowed to linger, can destroy the positive self-image that you work to keep intact.

A couple years ago I shared a personal story about something that happened to me when I was fourteen years old. During that time, I had little to no self-esteem which was the reason for my foolish actions.

Events in life can throw us back to a point where we feel useless, not needed or undesirable. Often after a relationship ends, people go through all the emotions accompanied with being rejected.

Questions like….

“Wasn’t I enough?”

“Why didn’t they love me?”

“What could I have done differently?”

These types of thoughts soar through the mind, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

In order to feel good about yourself again, it is necessary to re-evaluate your worth.

“What are your talents?”

“What makes you different than other people?”

“What have you accomplished so far?”

After being honest with yourself, it will become obvious that you are indeed an original – one of a kind – masterpiece.

In a roadside shop on the way back from the Grave’s Mountain Apple Festival, Alyssa and I examined all the treasures in the store. Well, to me, it was just junk, but I knew that many would not agree with me.

The old saying, that “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure,” echoed in my mind.

“One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.”
