Advantages:

- it is part of continuos assessment

- the syllabus for class tests is very less, giving each student the opportunity to perform well

- revision of what is studied in class

- teacher can assess how well the students have understood the concept

- students can get any doubts cleared before they appear for the semester exams

Disadvantages:

- students appear for class tests on a regular basis, they become casual towards them

- the number of class tests has gone up considerably, there is practically no break in the test and exam schedule for students to relax and rejuvenate

- teachers get less time for actual teaching as tests and correction of papers occupy more time
