The day started like any other typical Monday morning. Only thing that was different was, it was my special day. Yes, my birthday! I got up lazily, aeady for school, hoping that at least my besties would remember my day. As soon as I walked into the campus, one of my friends walked up to me. I was ready to hug the life out of her , that was, if she remembered.
"Hey, Good Morning, Maria!"
"Hey... Hi..."
We stood there like maniacs. She didnt say anything. I was struck. She didnt remember.
Surprisingly, this happened in every class. I had lost all hope. Even if there was some left, it was all demolished. It was the second last class of the day.
The recess had just been finished.
As I was walking up the corridor, some guy just came up to me and told me to mover faster. The same happened two more times. Mind you, I didn't even know these people!
What happened next was unexpected.
As I walked in my classroom, bug bursts of party poppers, confetti, and screams of Happy Birthday froze me.
They remembered.
The rest of the day , even after school, went in my celebrations. That incident was unexpected, but it made my day.
