*******Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Campaign/Mission)*******

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a national campaign launched by the government of India.This event was flagged off by president Pranab Mukherjee.It covers 4041 satutory towns to clean the streets,roads and infrastructure of the country.This campaign had been officially launched on 2 October,2014 at Rajghat,New Delhi.Our Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi himself wielded the broom and clean the road.Modi addressed the citizens of India and asked everyone to join this campaign.Later on this day,Modi himself swept a parking area at Mandir Marg Police Station followed by a pavement in Valmiki Basti, a colony of sanitation workers at Mandir Marg,near Connaught Place,New Delhi.The campaign is India's biggest ever cleanliness drive and 3 million government employees and schools and colleges students of India participated in this event.This mission was started by Narendra MOdi,nominating nine famous personalities for this campaign and they take up the challenge and nominate nine more people and so on.It has been carried forward since then with famous people from all walks of life joining it.

This campaign aims to accomplish the vision of 'Clean India' by 2 October 2019,150th Birthday of Mahatma Gandhi and is expected to cross over INR 62000 crore (US $10 billion).The campaign has been described as "beyond politics" and "inspired by patriotism".

NIT Rourkela Ph.D students have mafe a short film on Swachh Bharat and they conveyed the message that Swachh Bharat isd not a one day event,it should be part of our lives,only then can we achieve our goal of Swachh Bharat (Clean India).

India,our country,is widely notorious for its unclean streets,offices,public place and more so for the poor civic sense of Indians.Rightly so,because people can be seen littering,spitting and easing themselves in public just about every where.It is shameful and embarrassing.

When India is contender for becoming a superpower,It is quite regressive thing,that we are unable to keep our home and our country clean.
