Answer:

Safety of Women in India has become a major issue in India now. The crime rates against women in the country have only risen to a great extent. Women think twice before stepping out of their homes, especially at the night. This is, unfortunately, the sad reality of our country that lives in constant fear.

Safety of Women in India

Women in India have been given equal rights as men; however, people do not follow this rule. They contribute to the growth and development of our country; still, they are living in fear. Women are now on respected positions in the country, but if we take a look behind the curtains, we see even then they are being exploited. Each day we read about horrific crimes being committed against women in our country like it’s a norm.

Answer:

Safety of girls and women

According to statistics, 39% of all women in the Netherlands have been the victims of sexual violence at some time in their lives. Power imbalance and stereotypes about men and women are often to blame. That is why the Dutch government wants men and women to be on an equal and healthy footing.

Making teenagers more resilient

The government wants both boys and girls to know how to stand up for themselves in the area of sexuality and relationships. Therefore the government has set up the We CAN Young campaign. Young people need to set their own limits and respect those of other people.

Challenging gender stereotypes

Violence may be the result of power inequity and stereotyped thinking about gender roles. These attitudes may also sometimes be reinforced by the media. To tackle the problem, learning packages have been produced for use in sex education and media literacy classes in secondary schools.

Focus on sexual diversity

On 1 December 2012, learning to show respect for sexuality and sexual diversity were introduced as attainment targets in the school curriculum in the Netherlands. To better equip teachers to talk about these subjects in the classroom, the government seeks to:

find out how the various teacher training colleges deal with sexuality and sexual diversity;

boost expertise among established teachers and those currently in training.
